We stopped into one of our choice Midwest builders, No Coast Custom & Rod Shop (NCC&RS) in Lincoln, Nebraska, to check out one of their latest projects. They are well-known for their work in custom fabrication and high-performance applications. On this latest build, they’ve packaged a stout 6.0L LS crate with some performance add-ons that will usher this ’71 Camaro into the new era.

We’re in Lincoln, Nebraska, catching up with the pros at No Coast Custom and Rod Shop. They let us take a peek at their custom 1969 Camaro project and shared a few tricks that would shed some light on any ambitious do-it-yourselfer. Lead fabricator Matt Gooder and owner Ben Vaneperen are always finding new ways to play with metal.

Before the temporary indoor gallery went on display to the public, however, many of the invited feature vehicles participated in a reliability run on Friday covering more than 130 miles around the Lincoln and Omaha areas, sticking primarily to backroads and two-lane highways. The run included stops at a private collection in Lincoln, CAL Auto Creations in Bennington, No Coast Custom and Rod Shop in Lincoln, and the Museum of American Speed on the Speedway Motors campus, where participants enjoyed a barbecue dinner, plus drinks from Mash Lab Brewing.

Channellock, Inc., has released the third installment of the It’s Personal video campaign. The third episode features Ben Vaneperen, founder, owner, fabricator and painter of No Coast Custom and Rod Shop Inc., in Lincoln. VanEperen’s shop started from a single stall garage and now operates out of a 6,000 square foot facility.

To get us started, Ben Vaneperen and the crew at No Coast helped us get the cab mounted on a rolling cart that would make it easy to move around the shop and allow us access to the floor, rockers, and cab corners. We elected to install a full floor that was complete from rocker to rocker, cab back to toeboard, and already had all the supports attached underneath.
